Summer and Winter School

Winter School 2009

Admission to Winter School is by Application only. The following should be noted in relation to applications for admission:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • Please note that only postgraduate units of study are being offered;
  • The number of places in each unit for Winter School is limited so admission will be subject to vacancies;
  • Admission is limited to a maximum of two units of study due to the intensive nature of classes;
  • Preference will be given to applications from current Victoria University (VU) students, particularly those who must repeat a unit for course progression reasons or those who must complete only one/two units of study in order to graduate;
  • External applicants will only be considered after all applications from VU students have been exhausted;
  • Evening classes may NOT be available for all units of study (check the timetable below);
  • Any relevant pre-requisite studies must have been successfully completed;
  • Tutorial classes (where applicable) will be allocated by the Faculty.

Successful applicants

Applicants approved admission to Winter School units of study are confirmed in the list below.

Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that their Winter School enrolment is correct by checking myVU. Any changes must be made via submission of the appropriate form by the census date above.

External applicants (Cross institutional) will be contacted via their nominated telephone number.

Applying for Admission

Victoria University students

Students currently enrolled with Victoria University must complete and submit the following forms to the Faculty Office by the closing date above. Both forms must be completed. These forms are also available from the Faculty Office.

External Applicants (Cross Institutional)

External applicants must submit the following form to the Faculty Office by the closing date above:

Students from other Universities wishing to undertake a unit of study under cross-institutional study provisions must complete and submit the Non-Award Unit of Study Application form along with written approval from their home University to the Faculty Office by the closing date above. Approval from the home University should also confirm if you hold a HECS place or are a pre-2005 HECS student (see Fees information below for details).

Successful external applicants will be contacted via their nominated phone number to arrange a date and time for formal enrolment.

Withdrawing from Subjects

Successful applicants who choose not to proceed with Winter School must formally request withdrawal by submitting a Unit of Study Amendment Form (see above) to the Faculty Office prior to the Winter School Census Date noted above. Please note, the form must be lodged at the Faculty office for Faculty authorisation. Any requests for withdrawal after Census Date must be submitted on a separate form available only from Faculty Offices and will require the approval of the unit of study lecturer. Late withdrawals attract a processing fee and associated unit of study HECS/tuition fees will be incurred.

Fees

Fees are charged in accordance with the University’s 2009 Schedule of Fees and can be viewed at www.vu.edu.au/Courses/Fee_Guide. Successful applicants will receive a Tax Invoice by mail shortly after their enrolment is confirmed. Payment of fees must be made by the due date specified on the invoice or the enrolment will be CANCELLED.

International students admitted to Winter School will be charged fees as a proportion of the 2009 semester fees for their course. See www.vu.edu.au/International/Courses_and_Fees for details.
